Good Knight, a show dedicated to the awareness of Rape Victims & Assaulted Women. The event is a variety show as well as a "man pageant" that will display the support our community has for these victims. The competing men are participating to demonstrate the ideal friends and companions that women should surround themselves with in order to lead safer lifestyles. Throughout the show the audience will get a chance to know these guys & understand how the problem of rape plays a part in our lives more than we realize. At the end of the show, one guy will be named the "Good Knight".
So how is the Good Knight chosen??? By YOU! The audience will decide who wins by donating any spare change or cash to the man they feel represents the best Knight. Which ever knight has collected the most will be dubbed the "Good Knight"! All of the money donated goes towards rape awareness organizations throughout Chicago. Such as PAVE and Rape Victim Advocates. So bring your piggy banks!
Rape is a problem that hits very close to home, especially on a college campus. But with knowledge and understanding of this harsh reality, rape can be prevented. To be honest, being raped is one of the biggest fears for all women. It is important to show our support and concern for the well-being of the women we love in our lives.
"Good Knight" will be held on FRIDAY MARCH 11 in the Illinois Room of UIC. There will be several organizations and business present showing their support. The audience will get multiple chances to win prizes, vote for the Good Knight, and donate to different Rape Awareness organizations.
